Building Resilient Communities with Tulia Africa Initiative
Across Kenya, farmers and households face shrinking harvests, unpredictable rainfall, and soils that struggle to sustain life. Women and youth search for new opportunities in landscapes that demand both resilience and innovation.
Amid these challenges lies a powerful possibility: communities have the knowledge, energy, and determination to create solutions that regenerate their land, secure food, and strengthen livelihoods.
Amid these challenges lies a powerful possibility: communities have the knowledge, energy, and determination to create solutions that regenerate their land, secure food, and strengthen livelihoods.
That is where Tulia Africa Initiative comes in.
Our Story
“Tulia” is a Kiswahili word that means to calm, to rest, to restore peace.
Our name reflects our vision: to restore dignity, nurture ecosystems, and create lasting hope — one farm, one household, and one community at a time.
Tulia is a youth-led, community-based movement working with smallholder farmers, women, and young people. We champion regenerative practices that protect soil, build resilience, enhance food security, and create new livelihood opportunities.
Why We Exist;-
Communities are ready for solutions that not only heal the land but also improve daily life. Farmers want better yields, women want opportunities, and young people want to lead in shaping a greener future.
At Tulia, we create spaces where these aspirations meet practical, sustainable action. By combining regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, and livelihood innovation, we are turning challenges into pathways for transformation.
Our Vision
Thriving communities where land is productive, food is secure, and households live in dignity ; sustained by practices that regenerate both people and the planet.
Our Mission
To empower communities across Kenya to adopt regenerative practices that restore soils, strengthen livelihoods, and build resilience against climate change.
Our mission reflects a conviction that true sustainability must be inclusive, transparent, and rooted in local realities.
Our Focus

Agroforestry & Landscape Renewal – integrating trees and biodiversity into farms and communities.
